Evahan Prepares a Grant Application for Advanced Manufacturer Delta Hydraulics

Delta was successful with its Request for Quotation Response to Hanwha Defense Australia to provide the hydraulic cylinders, manifold and hydraulic oil tanks to the Redback Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IVFs) it is manufacturing for Australia's Department of Defence as part of the Land 400 Project.

Following this success, Delta Hydraulics engaged Evahan to prepare a grant application to The Sovereign Industrial Capability Priority Grant Program for a new project to construct and develop a greenfield aluminum sheet sub-assembly manufacturing production facility capable of fabricating, assembling, and finishing aluminium sheet sub-assembly products to the international standards, codes and specific customer requirements of land and sea defence sector customers. Specifically, the facility could be used to manufacture and assembly the aluminum hydraulic oil tank required to meet the Hanwha Re3dback requirement, along with hydraulic cylinders controlling the troop rear access door on the IVF's.

The application addressed the assessment criteria, specifically:

  • The extent to which the project contributed to the Australian Department of Defence’s Sovereign Industrial Capability Priorities
  • Delta Hydraulics' (Delta's) capacity, capability and resources to deliver the project
  • Delta's plan to manage the project including key risks, timeframes and budget.
  • Delta's project budget commensurate with the grant amount requested to clearly outlining the project expenditure
  • Delta's track record managing similar projects
  • Details of the technical and management skills and experience of the key people managing the delivery of the project.
  • Project success measurement metrics
  • Secuity of intellectual property and technology against physical and cyber threats.
  • Benefits of the project to the wider organisation in terms of capacity, capability and future markets
  • Details of funding requested and application of the funds in tranches
  • Broader economic benefits of the project
