Financial Modelling - Company Valuation - Information Memorandum - Capital Raise

DSP Media is a Sydney Australia and Los Angeles, USA based developer and manufacturer of digital postproduction consoles for the global TV and documentary film industry. DSP Media consoles have been used for audio postproduction for a range of high-end TV shows, and example being numerous National Geographic Productions

Following seed rounds from the Australian Government's Ausindustry program, the Series A round inventor, a Melbourne based venture capital fund Momentum Ventures engaged Jason to assist in closing the Series B round with a group of inventors consisting of high-net-worth family from Melbourne Australia and a Hong Kong based private equity fund.

Consulting and advisory services provided by Jason were included:

  1. Market due diligence, talking with customers and potential customers in Studio City, Universal City, Santa Monica, Culver City and Burbank
     
  2. Assisted the CEO recruit an inaugural CFO
     
  3. Working with the new CFO undertook financial modelling including cashflow and P&L forecasts as well as supporting income, cost schedules highlighting key commercial assumption 
     
  4. Developed a business plan for the sales and marketing-based expansion of the fledging company into the USA from its Universal City, Los Angeles base. The Business Plan described the business model and core product, sales & marketing, people and finance strategies and plans
     
  5. Converted the Business Plan to an Investment Memorandum or Information Memorandum by highlighting the expansion cashflow demonstrating a Serie B funding need of need of USD $2.5m, makeup of the board post the Series B round, and potential M&A and exit opportunities within a few years
     
  6. Following the provision of the IM to the Melbourne High Networth investor and Hong Kong private equity firm, was on hand to undertake additional financial modelling incorporating the ideas of the potential income investors and to prepare responses to any due diligence queries that they had
