Jason Bresnehan Prepares a Grant Application for an Ausindustry Commercialising Emerging technology (COMET) Grant
Jason met Fairfax journalist and entrepreneur, Leila Henderson, at a 2003 ANZATEC – the Australian New Zealand Technology Forum event in Silicon Valley Jason teamed up with Leila to create a bowser based online media release distribution platform with two key competitive advantages. Firstly, it enabled the preparation of the media release using a structured a template to prepare the media release off-line before publishing and secondly it has features providing search engine keyword optimization.
NewsGallery Pty Ltd was incorporated to commercialise the HTML/Javscript/PHP/MySQl platform.
The COMET grant application met all the key criteria in this competitive grant program and the company was awarded a non-recourse grant. A software developer was engaged the platform built and it launched in October 2005.
Central to the commercialisation was the preparation of a five-year business plan with a detailed financial model including cashflow and P&L projections.
