Jason Bresnehan, an interim CEO with hard-nosed commercial acumen

On behalf of venture capital investor Momentum Ventures Jason Bresnehan was appointed the interim CEO after the departure of the founding CEO.  Biovend develops web enabled secure vending freezers to dispense biological reagents in medical research laboratories.

Jason's role will be to:

  •  Recruit a general manager and engineering team
  • Get the R&D program back track by overcoming the technical difficulties of vending robotics operating in -10 degrees Celsius environment
  • Get the fron end point of use (PoU) software application development back on track
  • Get the back-end SQl based inventory management and ERP system back on track
  • Identify USA based trial customers and negotiate a deployment trial. Target customers include  Amersham Biosciences USA , Applied Biosystems USA , Eppendorf Germany , Fermentas Lithuania , Fisher Scientific USA , Invitrogen USA , New England Biolabs USA , Panvera USA , Perkin Elmer Life Sciences USA , Promega USA , Qiagen USA , Roche Applied Sciences Germany , Sigma Aldrich USA , Takara US
  • Raise bridging finance
  • Raise a Series B venture capital round
  • Develop business plans, marketing plans and investment memorandum
  • Explore new market segments outside of life sciences

Jason was also appointed as Director serving on the Board. Board governance was formal because the Board was made up of Series A and Serie B venture capital investor representatives and an independent. Jason prepared all monthly Board papers with the standard agenda including budget vs actuals, financial performance, cashflow, sales and business development, operations and M&A opportunities.
